Hump Day Hook – 06 March 2013

humpdayhook

Greetings, all!

It’s Wednesday and that means it’s time for a Hump Day Hook!

I’m finishing my release celebration of Lust in Time: Erotic Romance through the Ages with a final clip from Giant Killer, the 1000 BC entry in this great collection from Rob Rosen and MLR Press.

Lust in Time Cover

Some commotion stirred the rear of the hall; heads swiveled and necks bowed as the audience members whispered one to another. Jonathan recognized his father’s seneschal, Ziba, moving across the back of the chamber. The family retainer was accompanied by a tall young man who looked every which way, trying to take in all there was to be seen. Jonathan suppressed a smile. What a rube!

The crowd parted as the newcomers strode forward to stand before King Saul. The young man was… a vision… so handsome that he had to be an angel—although surely no angel would look so travel worn. The youth was lean and bronzed with dark hair; he made brief eye contact with Jonathan. When he looked away, Jonathan had to force himself to breathe—the young man’s piercing blue eyes had completely entranced him.

Greetings, all!

As I’m celebrating the release of Lust in Time: Erotic Romance through the Ages—a great collection edited by Rob Rosen and released by MLR Press, my clip today is from my contribution, Giant Killer, the 1000 BC entry in the anthology.

Lust in Time Cover

The handsome warrior was more than an ordinary soldier; he was the king’s son. Surely he will have no time for a shepherd. David had clearly heard Jonathan’s frustration when he got saddled with his care. Silently he followed behind.

Jonathan’s chamber befit a soldier—sparse and spare, the room was little more than utilitarian—yet David could still tell he was with royalty. Rich woods and textiles comprised what masculine furnishings there were. A hint of cloves seemed to hang in the air. There was no decoration.

“As my father decided, that is to be your bed.” Jonathan pointed to a small cot shoved into a corner. Spare pieces of armor were stacked nearby.

“Th—thank you, my lord.” David looked around the room, missing the simplicity of Jesse’s house. His excitement had waned, and never had he wished so much to be in Bethlehem. Suddenly he felt very much alone.

“There is water and a basin so you may wash and change clothing.”

“Yes, my lord,” he replied, keeping his eyes averted. Looking at Jonathan just made his heart race and his mouth dry—it was easier to look at the floor or walls—anywhere but at the attractive soldier.

Lust in Time: Erotic Romance through the Ages is now available from MLR Press in both print and ebook formats.

Since I’ve been tagged by Ciaran Dwynvil in the 7/7/7 meme on Facebook (this is how you play: Go to page 7, 77 or 177 of your manuscript, count down 7 lines, then copy the next 7 to your status; after that, name 7 more authors to come out and play), I’m taking the opportunity to promote the Lust in Time release. My bit is from my story Giant Killer, which is the 1000BC entry in the anthology:

While he and Ziba travelled from Bethlehem, David had planned how he would answer Saul, how he would make the king see that Jesse needed him at home. Back and forth he’d debated with himself until he knew exactly what he would say. Now that was all gone, and he was just a shepherd kneeling before the mightiest man in Israel.

When Saul bid him look up, David glanced at the soldier. The man smiled—and that smile reached those deep-brown eyes and filled David with a sense of calm and confidence. He realized that no words would convince Saul; only music could sway the king. And music he could make.

Hump Day Hook – 20 February 2013

Greetings, all!

Today’s hook follows last week’s as I continue from my new release, Side Effects.

Side Effects coverMax Caulfield is secretly attracted to his best friend, Damien. One night Max’s fantasy is presented to him on a silver platter and he eats it up with a spoon, only to be thrown for a loop when Damien confesses his love.

Cute and super intelligent, Damien Mackenzie is right down Max’s alley and has been in love with him ever since they won the school math contest last year. He’s thrilled when Max accepts his offer to hook up, then confused when Max rebuffs him afterward.

When their psychology research project takes an unexpected turn, Max is forced to confront his feelings about Damien. But the side effects have changed Damien’s mind. Can Max find a cure and heal the rift in their relationship?

Following the fluttery pulse of Damien’s carotid, my mouth traveled down his neck, feeling the rough stubble of his beard. The salt of his sweat was sweet to my tongue and I savored the heat of his flesh with my mouth.

I explored the planes of his chest. Patchouli and sandalwood clung to his skin; I inhaled his scent like a drug. I was awash in new feelings, unfamiliar tastes and smells; the sensations flooded my brain, swamped my inhibitions.

Damien’s hands caressed my head when I moved down his body. Quickly I unfastened his jeans, pushing them down as he lifted his hips. His cock bounced free, a marvelous column of hard flesh, topped with a shiny crown.

Greetings, all!

Yes, I’m late—really late! Sometimes the real world intervenes on my fantasy world of writing. Ho hum! 🙁

But, I will soldier on and continue with Summer of History. This week’s clip follows hard on the heels of last week‘s piece, and we get to find out some of Ryan and Scott’s inter-personal history. I am inserting a break ’cause the boys are awfully randy, so this week’s piece is VERY adult and may not be suitable for all tastes ;-). Continue at your own risk…

~~~
Jackson’s fingers massaged the gel around Ryan’s hole, immersing him again in those waves of pleasure.
“Fuck me, please!”
“Who are you and where’s Ryan?” Scott feigned looking around the room. “You’re really into things tonight. Why’s that?” He lifted Ryan’s legs up onto his shoulders.
“I don’t know.” Ryan shifted his hips to better accommodate Scott’s approaching cock. “I was reminiscing—remembering our first summer in Paris.” He breathed in as Scott’s cock head pressed into his tight ring of muscle.
“Oh, God!” Scott inhaled as he entered Ryan. “That shitty little room I rented in Pigalle!” Slowly he pushed inward, filling Ryan’s warm channel. “Why we didn’t fall through the floor when we fucked I’ll never know.”
Ryan chuckled and then groaned as Scott filled him, touching that spot inside. “I never understood why you weren’t evicted—we made so much noise!” He moved his legs, wrapping them around the painter’s waist and pulling him closer; his hands entwined in Scott’s hair. “And at all hours of the day and night!”
“We really weren’t any louder than the rest of the tenants.” Lowering his head, Scott captured Ryan’s mouth, invading with his tongue to taste his lover. Their tongues dueled, mimicking the thrusts of their hips, which moved in tandem, grinding against each other as Scott continued to plunge into Ryan.
Ryan broke away from the kiss. “No, we just went on longer!”
 Greetings, all!
For today’s hook I’m continuing with my new release, Side Effects.
Side Effects coverMax Caulfield is secretly attracted to his best friend, Damien. One night Max’s fantasy is presented to him on a silver platter and he eats it up with a spoon, only to be thrown for a loop when Damien confesses his love.
Cute and super intelligent, Damien Mackenzie is right down Max’s alley and has been in love with him ever since they won the school math contest last year. He’s thrilled when Max accepts his offer to hook up, then confused when Max rebuffs him afterward.
When their psychology research project takes an unexpected turn, Max is forced to confront his feelings about Damien. But the side effects have changed Damien’s mind. Can Max find a cure and heal the rift in their relationship?
What I felt was scalding heat, burning trails of fire where Damien’s fingers met my skin. He slipped off my shirt and traced the outlines of my torso, red lines of sensation flaring across my mind. I put out my hands to support myself, feeling the satin of Damien’s skin over the steely muscles beneath. An iron fist in a slender, velvet glove.
Damien pulled me down into another embrace. I kissed his lips, but didn’t stop there. My lips moved over his face to kiss his nose, his cheeks, eyes, and across his forehead. I nibbled along his jaw to lick beneath his ear, pleased when he trembled at my touch.
Steambath Update!
steambath coverOne of my recent sales appears in Steambath: Sweaty Gay Erotica, the newest collection by Shane Allison from Cleis Press, releasing on July 16th, and now available for pre-order from TLAgay.com!
From the cover: “C.C. Williams will make you quiver in his tasty new creation, What I Am For.” {blush}
This is my pitch for the story: During Grandville College’s gay pride week, Doctor Gustav Stuyvesant recalls an important part of his personal coming out history. Doctor Stuyvesant takes his audience on a blow-by-blow tour of his first visit to a gay bath house and relates its effect on him. (Yep, it’s more of those Grandville College hijinks!)
I am along side such notaries as Rob Rosen, Logan Zachary, and Heidi Champa—to name just a few of the people in this hot collection!
Saturday Seductive Studs – 09 February 2013
saturday-seductive-studs_logo
Greetings, all!
I’m continuing with Summer of History. Today’s piece follows a little later and provides a peek at one of the cracks in Ryan and Scott’s relationship:
Rolling onto his back, Ryan opened his eyes.
Moonlight washed the room in mercurial light, pouring over Scott like liquid silver. Ryan admired how the light flowed across the ridges of Scott’s muscular body, was strangely jealous of the moon’s touch, as it highlighted a latissimus, rippled past his tricep, as he searched through the drawer for a condom. If only I could be that close to him.
Entranced by the play of light and shadow across his lover’s muscled frame, Ryan stroked his dick, only slightly softened by the break in their lovemaking. Even the feel of his own hand was enthralling to Ryan. Why am I feeling this way? What is going on?
Usually he wasn’t that into sex. Not in the down and dirty physical sense. He craved the emotional intimacy, the vulnerability inherent in being naked and alone with another man, not just the physical release of an orgasm. That was an essential difference between him and Scott—for him sex was more than just rubbing body parts together until someone came.
The cold shock of lube on his ass brought Ryan back from his musing.
Heartbreaker Blog Hop
Heartbreaker Blog Hop Logo
“Heartbreaker, dream maker, a love taker!”
(I know, I know, I know! I just couldn’t resist a Pat Benatar reference! Horribly cliche, no?)
But isn’t that what really attracts us to our heroes—both alpha and beta—is that they are all those things at once? They fulfill our fantasies, give us someone to love, while at the same time driving us to drink! (My guy JT does it all—in spades!)
Do our hero guys do it on purpose? Sometimes, yes! But sometimes they are just as confused and mixed up about life and love as all the regular guys—maybe even more so when it comes to loving another guy!
My favorite heartbreaker is Jeff from my story Summer Stock. Hot, sexy and confused as hell, he makes life a nightmare for Robert every time they have to work together.
Summer Stock NEW 6x9
Action-film star Jeff Woltors and Pulitzer-nominated director Robert Jamieson hooked up when they were in college. That fling ended badly and has colored their lives and love affairs for years.
Brought together during their alma mater’s annual summer theater festival, the two men reconnect, resurrecting those old feelings and straining a tenuous truce to its breaking point.
Can two men overcome past deceptions and mistakes to achieve what they’ve always wanted? Summer Stock brings drama and tension to center stage as Jeff and Robert try to resolve a conflict fifteen years in the making.
Summer Stock is available in the Bookstore, as well as Amazon, All Romance eBooks, Rainbow eBooks and Smashwords.
So, here’s my question:
What attracts you to a hero, and what just drives you crazy about him as well?
Leave your answer, along with your email address, below to win an eformat copy of Summer Stock. You’ll also be entered to win one of the Grand Prizes:
1st Grand Prize: A Kindle Fire or Nook Tablet
Hump Day Hook – 06 February 2013
Greetings, all!
Today’s hook is from my new release Side Effects.
Side Effects cover
Max Caulfield is secretly attracted to his best friend, Damien. One night Max’s fantasy is presented to him on a silver platter and he eats it up with a spoon, only to be thrown for a loop when Damien confesses his love.
Cute and super intelligent, Damien Mackenzie is right down Max’s alley and has been in love with him ever since they won the school math contest last year. He’s thrilled when Max accepts his offer to hook up, then confused when Max rebuffs him afterward.
When their psychology research project takes an unexpected turn, Max is forced to confront his feelings about Damien. But the side effects have changed Damien’s mind. Can Max find a cure and heal the rift in their relationship?
We join Max (our narrator) and Damien in flagrante delicto:
I wanted to touch all of him, kiss him, lick every inch—I didn’t know where to start. Damien solved my indecision by grabbing the hem of his tee-shirt and pulling it off. Lithe and wiry, Damien had more meat than I would have guessed. And that treasure trail headed north, as well, to nicely fur his stomach and chest. I crawled onto the mattress beside him and started to unbutton my shirt.
Damien stopped my fingers, taking over. “Let me. It’ll be like a Christmas present.”
I snickered. “That’s corny.” He slipped hands inside my shirt, rubbing across my nipples. I shivered.
“Maybe it is, but that’s how I feel.”
