Seductive Studs – 29 June 2013

SeductiveSns_Logo

Greetings, all! It’s Saturday and time for some Seductive Studs! I’ve decided to stay with The Greek Room this week.

We rejoin Christos, standing before the pale, ochre door of Dunbarton Hall:

Christos attempted to relax, but his heart raced while he waited. Surely someone was at home. He was reaching for the knocker when the door opened to reveal a tall young man in a cutaway coat and black tie who squinted into the sunlight.

Christos smiled what he hoped was a charming smile, “Good—“

butler“Tradesmen at the rear!” The footman sneered and shut the door.

Taken aback, Christos stared at the entrance. He removed his hat, ran a hand through his blond curls, and knocked again.

As soon as the portal cracked open, Christos spoke, “I am no tradesman! I have come a great distance to see Robert Evans!”

The same young man replied, “Lord Evans is not at home… for you!” Again the door slammed in his face.

Frustration and despair surged in his chest. He had no other options. No home to go back to, no connections, no references—other than the old letter in his pocket. Christos vented that misery and vexation on the knocker as if he were beating it through the very wood.

The door flew open. “Oi, mate! Bugger off! Ye’ haf’ no bidness ‘ere!” Anger contorted the footman’s face, and his accent belied his fancy dress.

Christos shoved his small valise across the threshold and dug in his breast pocket. Meeting the footman face to face, he waved a crumpled envelope at the servant. “I have a letter for Robert Evans! I must speak to him!”

Hump Day Hook – 26 June 2013

Hump Day Hook

Greetings, all! It’s time for a Hump Day Hook!

To celebrate the release of Sophomore Season, today’s hook is from Coxswain All the Way, which appears in the collection.

As coxswain of the varsity eight, Derek was the little guy who sat in the stern of the boat, yelling to the oarsmen about where they were with respect to the other boats in a race, working with the stroke—the stern-most and lead oarsman—on strategy, and acting as in-boat coach, fine tuning the oarsmen’s rowing technique.

1006Christina013-01He wasn’t really that little—light, yes, but solid muscle. The only reason he didn’t row was that he was only five feet, seven inches. A swimmer in high school, Derek had been on Grandville’s swim team his freshman year, but the swim coach hadn’t been demanding enough. He didn’t challenge his athletes the way Coach Diedrickson did. When Derek was honest with himself, being around big guys with bulky muscles was more his speed anyway.

That’s how Derek happened to be riding through Kentucky in the passenger seat of Kevin Patterson’s stripped-down van with seven hunky guys sleeping behind him. With only two seats in the van—one for the driver and another for a passenger, the team took turns in them. At night, since they were driving non-stop, the navigator’s job was to keep himself and the driver awake.

Seductive Studs – 22 June 2013

SeductiveSns_Logo

Greetings, all! It’s Saturday and time for some Seductive Studs!

Today, I’m stepping away from Summer of History for a moment to share a clip from a short work in progress, titled The Greek Room. This is its opening:

Dunbarton Hall stood like a stone nipple atop the breast of Northumberland.

Belsay Castle

Belsay Castle, Belsay, Northumberland

The grey pile was a dog’s breakfast of architectural styles, which did nothing to make it less intimidating as Christos trudged up the long, dusty roadway. He’d walked from the train stop—the small shack along the North Eastern Railway line hardly qualified as a station, unlike the grandly vaulted building he’d left behind in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. After disembarking from the Son of Macedonia, he’d possessed just enough money for a one-way fare to Dunbarton.

The dusty road transitioned to a white, pea gravel circular yard the nearer Christos came to the hall. Terraces of grass and flowers interspersed with finely manicured bushes drew the eye toward the large, pale ochre front door. Christos brushed at the dust on his trousers and boots. It wouldn’t do to look too rough shod.

He’d stopped behind a hedge and changed to his better shirt before approaching the great house. He could only hope that no one looked too closely at his jacket and trousers—the mending was all that seemed to hold them together. He took a deep breath. Months of travel from Greece—made more difficult by the war with the Ottomans—were ending here on this porch. He had no more money. With a quick prayer he lifted the lion-headed knocker and let it fall.

Hump Day Hook – 19 June 2013

Hump Day Hook logoGreetings, all! Time again for a Hump Day Hook!

I’m continuing with Subeo. If you’d like to catch up with the story so far, click here.

“Liam! Liam, wake up!” The voice—Keith’s, he recognized—whispered nearby.

His tongue was thick and stuck to his teeth. He fought to sit up. Metal creaked loudly in the pitch black.

“Lie still! Just listen!” Tension pulled at Keith’s voice, making it thin and reedy “You can’t get out of here by resisting. The only way out is through the ritual.”

Ritual? What sort of shit had Keith gotten him into?

20051002190321_103Cautiously he felt about. He was back on the cot. His clothes had been removed—he was oddly thankful not to be wearing piss-soaked jeans—and replaced by some sort of loose fabric that covered him from neck to foot.

“Don’t move!” Keith paused, his breathing fast and shallow. “Oh, crap—he’s coming back! I’m not supposed to be here! Don’t take the easy answer! Remember—don’t take the easy one!”

Easy answer? Any answer—hard or easy—would have been good!

This was getting worse by the minute.

Coming Soon! – Sophomore Season and Steambath

SophomoreSeason18x27My second year omnibus collection, Sophomore Season, will be available soon in print and ebook!

From the back cover:

Sophomore (from the Greek ‘sophos’ wise + ‘moros’ foolish) has come to mean a second year, when it’s really about knowing that there’s still more to learn.

C.C. Williams presents a selection of pieces from his second year’s production. The results of his sophomore season.

Some romance, some hot sex, a little comedy, a little darkness. Sophomore Season presents sixteen stories, including three previously unreleased shorts:

Coxswain All the Way – in which two crewmates make the most of rowing camp;

Class Reunion – where two old footballers are thrust together with unexpected results;

What Are Friends For? – answers the question of what happens when you add pot to porn and lube!

Also included is the much-anticipated print appearance of Side Effects, the most recent Grandville College novella, as well as stories from the ebooks Hookin’ Up and Working Trade.

Sophomore Season will make you wonder what more you have to learn!

steambath coverAlso coming out soon is Shane Allison’s most recent anthology Steambath: Sweaty Gay Erotica. This collection includes my short, What I Am For.

From TLAgay.com:

Steamy encounters in the bathhouse have been the stuff of erotic legend for centuries, just ask Spartacus! Shane Allison turns the stereotype on its ear in Steambath, a rollicking romp of pretty boys and dashing daddies doing it. From fresh faced twinks to to silver foxes and beautiful bears, Shane delivers sensational stories where every man is naked ALL THE TIME! A towel-snapping good read, is filled with sizzling porn bodies, sexy boys next door, and tantalizing tricks that fully capture the erotic dynamic of between men.

Rob Rosen turns up the heat once again in his new tale, “The Key.” A young detective sets out to investigate the disappearance of a young twink, but finds more than what he ever thought imaginable in Logan Zachary’s “Incubus Steam.” Things get hot and heavy when a college professor and one of his horny students stumble upon a European steam bath in Jarrett Neal’s “The Chaperones.” Freak-nastiness is at its best in Heidi Champa’s, “Showtime.” C.C. Williams will make you quiver in his tasty new creation, “What I Am For.”  I can never get enough of gay porn veteran Landon Dixon and his story “Saunsational” is no exception. Newcomer T.R. Verten heats things up “Across the Bay.” It’s sex nostalgia at its best in Jimi Goninan’s, “Meanwhile.in the Sauna.” Dudes get nasty in Gregory L. Norris’s, “The Gay Dude.” Find out what’s up “Arnie’s Ass” in Troy Storm’s new one.

Shane Allison is a rising gay erotica star and proves it with Steambath.

Seductive Studs – 15 June 2013

Greetings, all! It’s Saturday and time for Seductive Studs!

We are continuing with Summer of History. To catch up, click here.

Making some progress on the field trip had lightened Ryan’s mood. He was still pissed with Jackson and his lack of compunction, not to mention disappointed in his own lack of resolve, but he wasn’t seething about it anymore. In order to distract himself he tried to focus on grading essays, but his thoughts kept wandering back to Conall Shaughnessy. He kept listening for the ping of incoming mail, willing Conall to respond.

Guy texting

His cell phone buzzed. Flipping it open, he found a text from Jackson. Meet 4 lunch?

God! That was just like him. Ryan knew that Scott was going to want to discuss the blow up. He always sought to intellectualize what to Ryan was an emotional issue—their relationship. And doing it over lunch made it difficult for Ryan to express just how really pissed he was. Why do I let him do this?

Knowing that a refusal would just prolong the inevitable, Ryan replied, Where?

Faculty dining rm.

Oh, hell no! No way was he going to do this in view of any colleagues. He texted back, Not in mood 4 ptomaine. Manley’s in 45.

LOL! C U there.

Shutting the phone, Ryan headed to the shower.

Colors of the Rainbow Blog Hop

Greetings, all, and welcome to the Colors of the Rainbow Blog Hop!

After considering what to write for today’s post, I decided that I wanted to do something different than just post an excerpt and buy link for my latest release Side Effects. I’m going to talk a little about a recurring setting in my stories—and its background, so I’m calling this:

Location, location, location

Side Effects is set in the small Iowa college town of Grandville. A number of my stories take place at Grandville College, and I attribute that to the fact that I attended a small, midwestern college myself—and enjoyed every year of it! Much more so than the time I spent at a large, urban university for my graduate work.

If you’ve read at least two of my Grandville stories, you may notice that the characters often have sex in at least one less-than-typical locale! For those who haven’t read any yet, here’s the evidence:

Summer Stock NEW 6x9

In Summer Stock, Jeff and Robert hook up in a storage room backstage of their Oklahoma! production;

C.C. Williams' The Pickup Game

Noah and Jerry (who have a cameo in Side Effects) get to know each other really well in the middle of the Life Drawing Lab in their story, The Pick Up Game;

steambath cover

Gus from All I Am For (appearing in Shane Allison’s Steambath anthology) explores a bathhouse;

Side Effects Cover

and, of course, in Side Effects, Max and Damien do more than study in the library!

So why do I like to use these types of locations? They’re often dirty, not necessarily that comfortable, and sometimes not all that private either! Well…

‘Cause they’re fun to write!

Not only can there be unusual props—a purple fainting couch for Robert and Jeff, or a wrought iron king-sized bed for Jerry and Noah—but also some other element to spice things up—the danger of discovery, for example. These are the things that make for a better than run-of-the-mill love scene.

Hopefully, they are fun to read, as well.

Now, some of you may be thinking, “That’s all well and good, but nobody really does that sort of thing.” Au contraire, mes amis! I’ve done the research! Okay, that’s what I’m calling it. 😉

While attending the above-mentioned college, I had two roommates and a narrow, single bed—the same situation my boyfriend was in. This lack of privacy forced some creativity in terms of where to have some fun—and we weren’t picky! The auditorium stage, a chemistry lecture hall, the roof of the library—just to name a few! All of them added a little something extra to our times together.

So, just as with real estate, an important element of romance is location, location, location!

“Stand up!”

He jolted awake, his head thumping painfully against the door. The room was still impenetrably black—he had no idea how long he’d dozed. It could have been minutes… or hours. Why had Keith done this?

dark_prison_bars

“Stand up!” The voice cracked again. “I shall not repeat the request.”

He struggled to his feet, his legs complaining. The chill floor had sucked the life from his muscles, leaving stiff soreness behind. He supported himself against the doorframe. “Keith, where a—?”

“Silence!” Sound didn’t come from behind him, beyond the door. The voice seemed to issue from the very darkness that engulfed him.

Pain chewed at his joints. His head ached where he’d struck it, and he needed to take a wicked piss. Anger flared in his chest—he wanted answers. And he wanted them now.

“Keith! Answer—“

“SILENCE!” The voice thundered with a trace of feedback. It was some sort of PA system.

“I want to—Aarrgh!” A powerful electric current shot up his left leg, numbing it and throwing him to the floor. Refusing to acquiesce, he struggled to speak. “Wh… why?”

More current shocked him, his limbs twitching against the floor. Warmth flooded around him as his bladder let go, and he fell into even deeper blackness.

Seductive Studs – 08 June 2013

Greetings, all!

Forgot to sign up on the list this week, but still going to post! Life has been crazy lately—lots of things going every which way!

We are continuing with Summer of History and find out some more about Conall. For those who may need a brush up, click here.

Ryan spent the next half-hour exploring the world of Conall Shaughnessy. He was very well recommended by the Guides Association as well as numerous former clients. Ryan made a note to ask for contact information; a personal recommendation was always good. His rates appeared reasonable, based upon Ryan’s research the previous day.

English Pub Interior

The Butchers Arms, Hepworth, Yorkshire

A link on the website connected to the Wexmeade Arms homepage. Several pictures showed off the small, seemingly comfortable public house. There were photos of the pub room, low ceilinged with polished wood and shiny glassware; in-room shots showing comfy looking beds with pastel linens; and several pictures of the surrounding countryside, green lawns and groups of trees. The inn was even listed in the Historical Registry.

Striking was the photo of the owners, Peter and Marilynn Shaughnessy. The innkeeper was broad and blond, fair-skinned with striking blue eyes, bearing little resemblance to his dusky brother. Marilynn looked like a petite version of Peter, long flaxen hair, pale skin with a pert little nose. The Shaughnessy family was beginning to intrigue Ryan.

Whoa, boy, Ryan thought to himself. You can’t just go with the first answer to your post. There will be other responses.

But something was hooking itself into Ryan’s gut. His subconscious wanted to go with Conall. Ryan debated with himself and compromised by immediately replying to Conall’s email with several questions.

Hump Day Hook – 05 June 2013

Hump Day Hook logo

 Greetings, all!

Once again, Wednesday is upon us and it’s time for a Hump Day Hook! Although Luk has come out of his sulk, I’m continuing with another piece from Subeo:

He sat on the floor in the dark, leaning against the cold implacable steel of his cell’s entrance. What the hell had happened? He remembered stopping by Perk ‘n’ Brew after class to write more of his clinical psych paper. Keith, Dr. Mellor’s T.A., had been there, and they’d talked about some of the research material. At that point he’d pretty much lost interest in working—he just wanted to look at Keith and listen to the animated way he spoke. Psychology wasn’t his major, but he’d have considered it if the dark-haired grad student were at every class.

TwoGuysinCoffeeShop

Keith had offered refills, and he’d taken the opportunity to use the john—his cock had gotten uncomfortably full as he watched Keith’s lips, imagining them doing things other than sipping latte. Good to his word, Keith had procured two fresh cups and was texting when he returned from the men’s room. The T.A. quickly apologized and stuffed the phone into his jacket pocket.

“No problem, dude,” he’d assured him. “I don’t mind.”

“I don’t like to text really.” Keith shrugged. “It’s rude if you’re with someone—like speaking a foreign language that someone in the group doesn’t. Everyone always thinks you’re talking—or texting—about them. Which I wasn’t.”

He recalled taking a sip, savoring the chocolaty smoothness as Keith got warmed up on a discussion of Freud and egocentrism.

Then the world had slid sideways…
